HOW AND WHERE

My photographic portrait work is mostly in black and white. I think it is timeless. But, it you would like color, I can shoot that, too.

I work on location, using natural light. I think people are more comfortable without flashing lights and artificial environments. I’m based in Stamford but am happy to have sessions outside of the southwestern CT area.

My portrait sessions are about simplicity so that the sitter relaxes. That’s what I’ll focus on.

We can talk about the types of images you are looking for, the possible size of the final print, clothing, location and other details when we schedule the shoot.

DAY OF THE SHOOT

I’ll shoot as long as the sitter is willing.

I don’t put a time limit on a shoot or charge by the hour. Usually I have to stop because the sitter is getting tired. So, block out an hour and a half or two for shooting. We might use it all. After that, most sitters have had enough. Sometimes, we nail it in ten minutes. But I don’t stop until I’m convinced I can do no more.

Please come ready to shoot.

If it might help to arrive a little early for a child to settle into the location, please do. If a child is not in the mood and can’t get in the mood despite our best efforts, we’ll reschedule.

DELIVERY

You will receive all the edited (digital) images within two weeks of the shoot.

RATES

I charge a flat fee for the session of $1500 plus travel expenses outside of thirty miles or so from Stamford, CT.

For this, I shoot as much as I can, edit, retouch as needed and send you the digital files of all the good shots. There is no limit to the number of images that I send you. If I like it, you’ll get it. There is no limit to the number of images that I send you. These will be large enough for you to print up to 8 x 10 with no distortion. You can use them as you like, making prints, books, sharing with family, etc.

I will be shooting in a large enough format to create very large finished prints, which is more extensive than a normal photo session.

For larger prints, I manage the printing process to make sure that the print is up to the standard that larger prints require.

The options for the finished print can be on archival photographic paper up to 70” x 120”, archival giclee printing on watercolor paper or canvas, archival prints on metal, or mounted on floating gallery plexi. We can discuss prices once we pinpoint the finished print dimension and medium.
